Antique 1850 Walnut Napoleon III Planter Jardiniere Gilded Bronze w Zinc Liner

From research a superb old antique planter

Shaped wood (oak?) with a burr walnut veneer

Feature French bronze mounted studs and fernery (attached with little nails) and gilded mounts (ormolu or gilded bronze, not sure) forming the legs. Empty cartouche to each side. Gallery rail looks like brass. Gilded handles to each end.

Wood on the inside and base is blackened

Complete with original zinc liner, and handles

Measurements:

• Width 14.0"
• Depth: 10.5"
• Height: 6.5"
