This is a fine World War II U.S. Navy/Marine Corp Air Crew Wing in the original manufacturer’s box that remains in mint condition. The wing is a 2 inch full size pinback example with three holes in a ribbon above it for the attachment of combat stars. It is complete with swing pin and roller locking assemblies, both of which remain fully functional. The wing rests on a red flocked insert. At the base is a foil label with the N.S. Meyer, NY manufacturer’s logo and ‘STERLING SILVER’. Beneath the insert are three tiny gold combat stars which were included in the original packaging and to be used when the wearer qualified for them. The cardboard box measures 2½ x 4 inches and with a blue and gold field on the lid. It has the N.S. Meyer name and logo on the lower right of the lid in the gold field and the original price tag affixed to the upper blue field. One end of the lid has the Meyer logo and the other with a tag that reads, ‘AIR -CREW-MEMBER, REG SIZE’ and ‘1/20 10K GOLD FILLED ON STERLING SILVER’. The box is will all corners intact.
