This is an extremely fine World War II U.S. Marine Corps Model 1937 Eagle, Globe, and Anchor visor hat insignia that is in excellent condition. It is the type of insignia worn on the dress green uniform visor hat. The insignia is screw back and marked ‘STERLING’ on the reverse of the eagle’s left wing. The anchor is fouled with a separately applied piece of delicately twisted wire. The continents on the globe have been separately applied and stand well off globe giving it a very 3-dimensional look. The original dark bronze finish is completely intact with only light wear to the continents and high spots on the eagle. A beautiful-looking Marine Corps insignia.
