Nippon Hand Painted Moriage Net & Scrollwork Purple Roses Burgundy & Blue Ewer

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE PURCHASING OR MAKING AN OFFER.

Beautiful porcelain ewer. Hand painted in blue and burgundy with white moriage quatrefoil and oval framed purple roses. With green and white moriage scrollwork over the maroon, white and green moriage over the top of the ewer, handle and foot rim. The center of the neck is gilded. Above and below the maroon the ewer is blue with a white moriage net/lattice overlay. Unmarked, but made during the Nippon era of Japanese porcelain. Circa 1891 to 1921.

Has some wear to the gilding, very minor loss to the moriage. However, there is a repaired crack to the top of the ewer. It appears to extend down from the rim to right above the gold portion of the neck and then stops. Does not appear to have any other visible damage or repairs. Still a very pretty piece that displays well.

Measures approximately 5 7/8 inches wide x 10 5/8 inches tall.

This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
