Today we are pleased to offer for sale a large pair of antique French gilt bronze wall sconces!

This fabulous pair dates from the mid to late 19th century - it has never been electrified or drilled for electricity. The set is very finely crafted and detailed and made of solid gilded bronze ormolu. The sconces are done in the lavish and ornate Louis XV Rococo style, with dramatically swirled rocaille arms and frame, leafed bobeche and heavy, ornate candle cups. The pair's majestic size and style will add old world opulence to any fine interior.

The pair presents well and is in good antique condition, with minor wear, tarnish and patina commensurate with age. There is minor darkening and loss to gilt on both sconces. One sconce has a casting flaw on the back of one arm, which is also slightly bent inward (see it circled in photo). Please review all photos before purchasing. Thank you!
