Anyone here looking for some fine skinny tire steel? Up for sale is a 1998 Chris Chance road bike. I picked this bike up from the original seller locally. Unfortunately it’s a bit too small for me, which is a huge bummer, as it’s in great shape and the previous owner let it sit/hang in the garage most of its existence. You’d be hard pressed to find a vintage Chance in this condition elsewhere.

The frame measures 55cm top tube, 54cm center-to-center seat tube and 57cm center-to-top. Stand over as pictured is 31.5 inches. I could “make the size work”, but I have too many other bikes that actually fit right.

The frame is gorgeous - the fade paint has a very fine pearl metallic to it that looks superb in the sun. The segmented curved blade fork is legendary. The frame has a few chips and scratches, but looks fantastic for a 25 year old bike.

Freshly tuned up and ready to ride. It has a Sachs New Success (basically Campagnolo) drivetrain that works great. Even has the original Sachs cable housing. Dura-Ace cassette, Shimano 600 tri-color hubs laced to Matrix Aurora rims. I added some fresh Vittoria Open Corsa Evo tires. Chris King no logo headset. Appears that it would accommodate a 700x28 tire. Could use new bar tape, but I’ll let the next owner pick out that color, as it would be yellow for me!

If you’d like a better price on it, you know how to reach me.
