1964 Fender pre-CBS L-Series Mustang in VG+ condition.

Original (or vintage sourced):

Body–original to this guitar. MJT did a brilliant job refinishing and aging the original Aldar body to look its actual age. I acquired this guitar without the original finish. The instructions I gave were to "match the body appearance to the neck." The absence of a contour on the back of the body further identifies it as '64.

Beautifully worn neck-original to this guitarA-width neck dated Nov 8, 1964. The neck finish is heavily worn and feels fantastic.

The frets are still in good shape with lots of life left and the guitar plays and sounds great–plays cleanly up and down the neck with no buzzes or other issues. Interestingly, the side dots are clay but the fretboard markers are pearloid. I am confident they are original

Note a tiny repaired split on the headstock near the high E-tuning machine. It has been professionally glued, is structurally solid, and is barely noticeable.

Tuners-original to this guitar.

Pickguard-Legit vintage Fender 1960s Musicmaster pickguard modified for bridge PU and switches.

Knobs-Legit 60' Fender sourced from a reputable vintage dealer.

Bridge-original to this guitar

Tremolo-original to this guitar

Brass Grounding Shields-original to this guitar

The case is probably original.

Fender used De Cuir hardshell cases for export sales to the UK and Australia, and this lining was used in the pre-CBS Fender era. Case wear and details suggest the case is as old as the guitar.
