This appears to be an artist's rendition of the New York Militia circa 1861Civil War era, depicting a private in overcoat and a private in full field equipment, as well as the caplock area of a Springfield musket. At first glance. there appears to be a stain in the bottom left corner, but on closer inspection it appears to have been painted in before the glaze was applied. Also of interest : although the title indicates 7th Regiment, the kepi worn by the private on the right appears to have a number 3 on the front. Please note the small rub mark on the print above the private in grey. I actually purchased this to flesh out a display and the error on the kepi really didn't matter. Although the 7th NY were the son's of New York's wealthy high society and was only used for garrison duty , their largest contribution to the Union war effort was to provide more officers ( literally hundreds ) of all ranks to the Union army than any other union Regiment or State.    PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK OUT MY OTHER 7th NEW YORK RELATED LISTINGS ! !  YES I WILL DO COMBINED SHIPPING.   *** PLEASE NOTE : If bidding on multiple items and you wish combined shipping to the same destination, please let me know and DO NOT PAY FOR ANY ITEMS, until I have sent a revised invoice to reflect the combined shipping cost. ***   Otherwise, combined shipping may not be possible.
