650B disc brake drive wheel conversion kit for Carbonbike handcycles with angular aero fork as shown in the pictures.  Will not work with the previous generation curvy fork, full fork, or F-21 fork.  This kit will allow you to use the fast Continental 5000 650b x 28mm tubeless tire at around 73-75 psi without having to fear about getting a flat or melting carbon brake track on steep, long descents.  This tire is significantly faster than the previous generation Continental 4000 SII tire, even at lower inflation pressures.  650b is only 13mm (a hair more than half an inch) larger in diameter than 650c, so the drive wheel still looks pretty much factory stock.  Zero modifications are needed to the stock aero fork.  Plenty of clearance with no rubbing issues.  If you are serious about racing or just want to go fast by saving at least 5 watts over the previous Conti 4000sII tire or at least 11 watts over the Vittoria Corsa 2.0 tire, then this kit is for you.  Most of the pro pelotons are on 28-30mm wide tires nowadays for good reasons.

This is no jerry-rigged kit.  Everything is carefully laid out to specifications.  The location of the brake caliper is precisely defined by International Standard (IS) to within +/- 0.1mm (see last attached picture).  Likewise, the location of the derailleur mounting hole is precisely defined by SRAM road specifications.  Both carbon dropouts are waterjet cut to +/- .009" tolerance.

Hydraulic disc brakes are much more powerful than the best rim brakes, so very little effort and finger pressure is required to bring the handcycle to complete stop from full speed.

The left carbon wheel dropout is designed to hug the contour of SRAM Red AXS HRD traditional mount/post mount hydraulic disc brake caliper.  Therefore, other calipers will not fit.  Likewise, flat mount hydraulic calipers will not fit.  The nice thing about SRAM Red AXS HDR caliper is that it has a swivel banjo fitting that allows you to rotate the hydraulic hose down away from the air stream.  The buyer is responsible for removing the lower factory rim brake and replacing it with the aforementioned SRAM Red AXS disc brake caliper, hydraulic brake hose, and brake lever.  The upper parking brake can still be used to keep the handcycle stationary.  If the buyer is not mechanically inclined, then any local bike shop will be able to install the hydraulic brake with ease since most, if not all, modern bicycles now come with disc brakes.

Handcycle, handcycle fork, hydraulic brake caliper, brake lever, cassette, and skewer are not included in this listing.
