Antique Victorian ROSEWOOD & Boxwood Tea Caddy / Box with 2 Compartments c1860


DESCRIPTION:

This is lovely antique Victorian ROSEWOOD and boxwood tea caddy which dates to circa 1860. This really is an superb article, as you can see from the photographs this box is made from the most exquisite ROSEWOOD which has some lovely grain.


The box is very nicely edged in fine boxwood stringing. The caddy has a nice bone diamond inlay to the keyhole. When the lid is lifted this reveals the lovely interior which includes two lidded tea boxes which have pretty turned bone knobs.


DIMENSIONS:

The approximate dimensions are:

- 8 inches long

- 4.75 inches deep

- 5.25 inches high


AGE:

The tea caddy is circa 1860.


CONDITION:

The tea caddy is in good condition, as can be seen from the photographs. There are just minor knocks / marks commensurate with age and use. The lids of the compartments are a little loose fitting as can be seen from the photographs of the caddy when open. Overall it is a wonderful tea caddy which would grace any home, so happy bidding
