DESCRIPTION: [iv] 345, [iv] 405 pages ; 19 cm. The first of Zola' s " Les Quatre Evangiles", a cycle of four novels entitled Fertility, Labour, Truth, and Justice, three of which he completed. This edition with bound in wraps was created during the period.
CONDITION NOTES: VERY GOOD. Solid page and cover attachment, with joints and cover edges lightly rubbed. Full caps, except for a chip to the head of the second volume joint. Also, second volume scratched on front cover. Internally fine, except for unavoidable toning to wraps and endpapers due to period paper choices. The text pages are fine, free of spotting, creases, or marks, and due to a selective paper choice, bright.
