Astaxanthin is a carotenoid and is a red, fat soluble pigment. It can be found in algae, salmon, trout, shrimp, crustaceans and some birds. Astaxanthin, unlike some carotenoids, does not convert to vitamin A in our body. Too much vitamin A is toxic for humans, but astaxanthin is not. The antioxidants in Astaxanthin & Bilberry Extract are derived from microalgae found in the pristine waters of the Stockholm archipelago.

Bilberry

Bilberries are an important source of vitamin C, fibre and antioxidants. They contain a very potent group of antioxidants called anthocyanins which belongs to the family of flavonoid-related polyphenols. This is the pigment that gives Bilberries their dark purple skin and flesh.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is widely renowned for its antioxidant capability. This contributes to the protection of cells within the body from oxidative stress. Another benefit is that it helps in the regeneration of vitamin E.
