There is also a nice beefy diode to protect the circuit from very high reverse polarity voltage.
This also acts to drop the input voltage by ~0.5v

Recommended 9v 2a regulated DC supply such as the M8925D, though many others would suit.
You would likely get away with 1500ma supply but I'd go a 2a
You will get away with a 12v supply, but highly advise 9v (diode on input drops this to around 8.5v under load, perfect for the LDO regulators used)

This is the cleanest available supply for the Saturn (and not by a little) - the trade off, a tiny bit of heat from the heatsink. This doesn't effect anything. Especially considering the mounting location of the supply. It's definitely not going to get any hotter than the stock supply. Board is a replica of the original supply shape, hence it clicks into place and screws in as a stock one does.

No more step down converters for JP/ US systems, no more having to recap supplies and hope nothing else goes out on them.

A solid, reliable supply that will live a lifetime.

Currently only suits VA-SG / VA-SD models - easy to identify. These have a ribbon cable at the bottom of the console connecting to the controller input daughter-board. These consoles have a separate 3.3v/ 5v rail.

Advantages:

Cleaner
Will last a life-time
No strain on the components - caps won't die out.
No over-voltage
No more step down converters

Stock supplies I've checked (quite a few) all do ~3.6v on the 3.3v rail under load. This is out of the +/- 5% acceptable range.
Stocks supplies I've checked do 5.2v under load (this is JUST acceptable, with a max of 5.25v being within tolerance)

Because of this, the system works under less strain and should last longer. These do a little under 3.3v and 5v under load (well within 5%)

Note: Only red no cut DC jack inserts are available...!

V1.5 revision now contains TerraOnion Mode additional 5v solder pads

Please advise if you are using a disc drive or ODE, there will be a new version with an extra trace to support disc drives on this model, but I need to patch this manually for current PCB's on hand.
