HP Pavilion dv2700 Entertainment PC Laptop

This machine originally came with Windows Vista (licence sticker still on base/rear of machine)
3 different Linux Distribution operating systems have been installed side by side, individually selected at boot (each distribution can access files on the other system when partitions mounted using 'root' password), also with a dedicated 50Gb 'Files' partition
1. Watt OS R13 (based on Debian Linux 12 - Bookworm) with lxde desktop - my new favourite minimalist install
2. Linux Mint 21.3 Virgina 64 bit (based on Ubuntu 22.04) with xfce 4.18.1 desktop -most fully featured favourite install
3. Manjaro Linux 23.1.4-1 64 bit Vulcan (based on Arch Linux) with xfce 4.18 desktop - previous 2023 favourite install

This laptop also comes with it's own infrared remote control that locks into a cardport slot to the bottom left of the machine. On fitting a new coin cell battery, initial tests show that this works and can control audio and video playback in all 3 distributions. Some additional configuration (drivers and settings) may be needed to make full use of all functions on the remote but the basics work, start, stop, step forward, step back, volume up and down (both player app and system volumes). Each distribution has an audio and a video player installed.

This laptop also comes with microphone and headphone jacks at the front centre of the keyboard area. Actually comes with 2 headphone jacks so 2 people can watch / listen to playback on the laptop simultaneously, both using their own head phones (a pretty unique feature).

This machine whilst no longer suitable for running current windows (Windows 11 is currently displacing Windows 10) is more than capable of being a daily driver usable machine when using one of the Linux Distributions installed.
On a very similar laptop that i have kept for myself I have also successfully installed 'wine' and run some windows programs from Linux (eg forscan and OBD2 interface for diagnosing faults with my Ford vehicle)
