Marko Kropyvnytskyi

Sheet “Marko Kropyvnytskyi” was issued on November 12, 2020, to mark the 180th anniversary of the famous writer and theater figure. The sheet contains stamps with a portrait of Marko Kropyvnytskyi and coupons depicting his artistic theatrical transformations. Kropyvnytskyi's name is associated with the creation of the first professional theater (theater of coryphaei) in pre-Russian Ukraine. It was opened in Yelisavethrad (now Kropyvnytskyi) in 1882. Despite all the restrictions, performances were held in Ukrainian.
