Up for sale, a 2006 Fender Telecaster Custom ‘62 vintage reissue model TL62B-TX in exceptional, 100% original condition, featuring a pair of USA-made Texas Special pickups. This upper-tiered (and long ago discontinued) “Crafted in Japan” Telecaster was produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, uncommon outside of its country of origin.

Tonewoods include an alder body, maple neck, and slab rosewood fretboard, and this Tele is remarkably lightweight at only 7lbs. The original pair of USA-made Texas Special single coil pickups feature all the hallmarks of vintage Fender pickup construction, with black fiber bobbins, cloth-covered leads and staggered alnico magnet pole pieces. Slightly overwound for a bit more kick than a traditional pair of single coils, the Texas Specials deliver plenty of snarl, with quintessential Tele twang in the bridge position and bell-like tones at the neck. This TL62B-TX has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Candy Apple Red is framed by white binding, and cosmetic wear is limited to light pick scuffing on top extending beyond the bass-side of the pickguard, and a few minor nicks and faint finish scratches on the body as a whole. The smooth ambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless.

A faux leather padded gigbag is included.
