This is a ring for the ETX-70 OTA which has 2 x generic dovetail brackets allowing the easy attachment of a red dot finder or an optical finderscope with a dovetail mount. The dovetails are 33mm at their widest point.

The ring bracket is 3D printed from ABS plastic which is pretty tough, and slips nicely over the lens end of the OTA before snapping onto the main body at the exact diameter of the tube. It is held in place by tightening up the 2 x thumbscrews at the base of the ring and this provides a snug tight fit that will not move or wobble.

This ring is designed specifically for the ETX-70 but should fit any 70mm telescope with a tube diameter from 85-88mm. (Pretty specific I know)

I'm not sure why Meade omitted a finderscope mount from the ETX-70. I know that once set up the Autostar does all the heavy lifting, but sometimes you just want to accurately aim your telescope quickly, or use it (heaven forbid!)  in daylight and a red dot finder makes it so much simpler.
