Deep Topaz Baltimore Glassworks Blank Slug Plate Iron Pontil Soda Bottle C.1850s

Rare deep topaz color unembossed with a blank rectangular slug plate squat soda bottle. Iron pontiled base with applied blob type lip. Circa 1850s. This is a rare example of this particular mold of unembossed pontiled soda these are attributed to having been blown at a Baltimore Glassworks during the 1850s. This same mold can be found with embossed slug plates for bottlers in Baltimore, Norfolk Virginia, and Charleston South Carolina. This mold can be collected in a great range of attractive colors with this deep topaz color being one of the toughest to find. 

The last picture shows a color run of this mold you are bidding only on the second bottle from the right.

Dug with overall patchy iridescent staining, and there are 3 small chips to the top edge of the lip.

Measures approximately 2 1/2 inch wide x 7 5/8 inches tall.
