For sale is a superb EVGA NVidia GTX 680 4GB Video Graphics card, flashed to provide Apple EFI Boot Screens working in the Mac Pro 3,1 - 5,1 (2008 - 2012)

As it is Metal supported, it will work with macOS 10.8.3 Mountain Lion through to macOS12 Monterey (with OpenCore). It will also boot into Windows 7 and 10.

This compact card works in Mac Pros with EFI64, and therefore is suitable for the Mac Pro 3,1 through to 5,1 (2008 - 2012).

The BIOS has been flashed with Mac EFI providing Base Clock: 1020MHz / Boost Clock: 1085 MHz / Memory: 1502MHz / Shading Units: 1536

This EVGA NVidia GTX680 Graphics card has 4GB (4096MB) of GDDR5 memory, and output ports available are: 1 x Dual-Link DVI-I, 1 x Single-Link DVI-I, 1 x HDMI and 1 x Displayport, all of which work in macOS and Windows.

This card can output on up to 4 displays simultaneously, with output resolutions:

1 x DP (Max resolution: 4096 x 2160 @60Hz)
1 x HDMI (Max resolution: 2560 x 1600 @60Hz / 4096 x 2160 @30Hz)

2 x DVI (Max resolution: 2560 x 1600 @60Hz)

It will show full Apple boot screens and EFI boot options with the Alt key, allowing selection of a choice of boot drives, macOS or Windows.

IMPORTANT:

Note 1: This GPU should be installed in a x16 PCI slot, and requires auxiliary PCIe cable power supplied via 6-pin + 8-pin connectors. The cable type will of course depend on whether your system is PC or Mac.

Note 2: There is a known quirk with the GTX 680 concerning Catalina and newer, which appears in some instances to block output from the Displayport. Other ports are unaffected. DP is fine on Mojave and older.

These are still fantastic cards for gaming, editing or 3D design work, with superb cooling via a single quiet blower fan. The card itself is in excellent cosmetic condition, very clean throughout and working perfectly, as it has been well looked after.
