Late 17th century to early 18th hand wrought iron hearth trivet, rare question mark design. 

Very nice very early trivet.

Triangle shape hearth trivet, early forge welded corners, and traces of early curled feet remaining.

Legs are full height.  Corners are tight and solid.  Very Rare and seldom seen "question mark form" I have a hanging trivet listed as well with this early and rare form.

Measures 11" per side, full 2" standing height.

Pennsylvania found.

I am a 3rd generation early American hearthware and utilitarian collector.

My Grandfather began back in the 1950s. My Father continued the collection,  as I have now for almost 50 years myself.

Many of these items have been in the collection for a half century or more. The collection ranges from first settlement period  to Federal. 1650-1840... USA, pre industrial revolution.
