2008 Saab Aero TTID 180 twin turbo - A fix will make it a fantastic car otherwise sadly spares or repair.


Below is a link to a video from a 45 minute drive yesterday in the Peak District (16/04/24), it's sped up in parts, then shows some normal driving at standard speed and a walkaround. Just wanted to demonstrate this as a good car, drives lovely and video is always good for this.

Here for sale is my very much loved Saab 9-3 Aero, TTID. It has been a super reliable car for the last 5 years I have owned it and I very much want to keep it but it has developed a fault that I don't have time to look at. In the past 2500 miles it has cut out 3 times, it gives an ABS and traction control warning and several miles later cuts out, key does nothing to start it back up and then after a short while it start and runs perfectly again. If you look-up Saab 9-3 no crank no start in google it gives lots of info. I believe it to be either the ABS module or a wire under the bonnet as I found that a wiggle near the battery area on the loom would see it come back to life again.


I don't see it safe to use like this over a long period of time and don't have the time, money or resources to fix. It could be that I could sell it without mentioning the problem as its intermittent but that would not be fair so I am being clear that this is sold as spares or repair. 


It's in really good condition for the age and feel it would be so sad to see it scrapped or stripped for parts so ideally looking for someone who can get her sorted will have a good modern classic. 


• Was Daily driver used for 1hr commute each way every day and has been 100% reliable (apart from the mentioned recent issue) so has always had what it needed as needed reliability

• Always completed an oil change every 8000 miles with the specific 0w40 that is essential to the TTID engine.

• DPF cleaner added every 4 tanks and long motorway runs so never had a DPF issue

• Early service history in the service book

• Rest of the history through receipts

• Factory HID Bi-Xenon with factory LED brow and rear LED lights

• Osram upgraded 5000k HID bulbs cost over £100 

• 2x Receipts for cambelt/Water pump changes over the years

• Oil sump rubber pick-up changed (at a big cost) as this is a major killer of these engines as the rubber o-ring goes hard over time and starves the engine of oil on start up, this was sorted before there was ever an issue occur.

• Lots of receipts with work done over the years.

• No knocks or bangs from the suspension so runs really very nice.

• 148000 miles (will go up slightly as still using)

• Very linear power with the twin turbo setup

• almost new GoodYear front tyres

• Comes with a spare set of rear brake disks and 4 Litres of 0W40 Saab oil
