Antique GEORGIAN GEORGE III Mahogany Tea Caddy Caddies circa 1780


DESCRIPTION:
Here we have a superb quality Georgian tea caddy which is made from mahogany which has superb patina. The front has a lovely shield shape escutcheon. The lid of the box has a shaped handle and lifts to reveal two lidded compartments. The attention to detail on the the box is superb.

A nice feature is that the caddy is complete with it's lock and a key. 
 

DIMENSIONS:
The approximate dimensions are:
- 24 cm long
- 15 cm deep
- 14 cm high
 
AGE:
The writing box is circa 1820.
 
CONDITION:
The caddy is in good condition,  just minor knocks / marks commensurate with age, as can be seen from the photographs. Please study photographs carefully as they form part of the description and condition, as what you view is exactly what you will receive.
 
Overall it is a wonderful writing box which would grace any home, so happy bidding
