This is a vintage (1993-94) used set of two Pantone color guides/swatches with the black plastic tray.  The tray in the photos shows it's cracked in several places but still holds the two guides in place.  These are coated and non-coated 1000 color swatches.   As the front cover of the black one shows a bend crease so it has definitely been used.  While the white one shows what looks like maybe a coffee stain.  All of the interior swatches look to be stain-free.
