Civil War Model 1850 Non-Regulation Sword with Scabbard. The ricasso is marked "Solingen" with an arrow pointing up both inside an oval of dots. The brass guard, grip, and pommel are a little loose. The grip is down to the wood, has some small chips and gold flecks on it. The twisted wire wrap is gone and has been replaced with a straight wire. The faintly etched blade is straight, sharpened, the tip is a little sharp, a few light nicks that you can feel but not see, and has some light pitting spots on the last 7" towards the tip. The scabbard has a brass throat, mounts and drag, but the throat, mounts and body have been painted black. Overall the scabbard is solid with a couple dings, and paint loss spots scattered throughout. The leather washer is missing. Length of the blade is 32" (1 1/8" wide and 1/4" thick), the sword is 37 1/2", and in the scabbard it is 38 3/4".
