VINCENT VAN GOGH 1853-1890 / SKULL OF A SKELETON WITH BURNING CIGARETTE, undated but vintage postcard of a painting from 1885-1886, printed in the Netherlands for EDITION VAN GOGH MUSEUM AMSTERDAM, 6 x 4-inches and semi-glossy at front and back, mint condition; I've paired it with the only frame I have which fits the card; the 7.25 x 5.3 x .75-inch solid wood flame is new, never previously used.; has sturdy stand for display on a desk, dresser or bookcase.

PLEASE NOTE: There's a half-inch slender brown mark at the frame upper left corner. I tried to remove it with Goo-Gone but it's an imperfection in the wood.

This he quality is a licensed reprint from the Netherlands of a 1885-1886 Van Gogh painting. The text at the upper left corner on the back has key info, including the Dutch title of the painting, also a printed line indicating it's the Edition Van Gogh Museum Amsterdam, Based on scarcity, I believe ti was only sold at the Amsterdam Museum, one of the most popular sites in that famous canal city.

It's an iconic image, atypical for the artist but suggestive of his own dark thoughts. There are many recent art prints on eBay, some framed, many unframed, even some used tee-shirts. But there are no other postcards from Amsterdam's Van Gogh Museum, which had to be purchased by an American tourist and brought back to the U.S. unposted, then maintained in mint condition for several years, which is the case with mine.

The Buy-It-Now price of $32.00 includes shipping with a cardboard insert over the glass and bubble-wrapped in a small cardboard box via Ground Advantage, which takes less than 7 days with tracking and insurance.
