“How to Build the Texas Wall Clock” is a Do-it-Yourself instruction manual in Acrobat format on CD-ROM, that describes how to build a hand-crafted, solid wood Wall Clock with a fine finish and classic hardware. Clear color and black-and-white illustrations with dimensions, photos and a step-by-step, checklist-style procedure make it easy to visualize the finished product. An Exploded View is included for clear visualization of the project. This clock design requires only average woodworking abilities and tools to complete.

The Texas Wall Clock is designer-inspired and all drawings are engineer-style for clarity, yielding a modern twist on the classic Regulator Clocks used in schools, train stations and public places in the 18th and 19th centuries. This clock captures the essence of those classic clocks, with a modern quartz clock movement to accurately and dependably display the time of day, with a quality pendulum that provides the classic “wig-wag” visual aspect of this clock. The Texas Wall Clock will provide many years of pleasure, with its classic good looks.

Full-size Templates and instructions are provided for woodworking parts and for etching a fancy design in the window glass.

Hardware Sources page suggests good places to obtain quality hardware.

The finished clock utilizes a modern Quartz clock movement, for accurate and dependable display of the time of day. Clock movements are available at www.klockit.com or www.clockparts.com.

The finished clock measures  20” high, 14-1/2” wide, and 5” deep.

About the Author:

While attending university, the author used his woodworking and design skills to build large and small clocks to sell and help pay for his tuition and books. Following his passion for clocks, he designed clocks that resemble Classic clocks, yet are simple enough to be built using basic woodworking tools that most woodworking hobbyists have on hand (table saw and router). The author’s instruction manuals are a result of a desire to help other woodworkers to have simple, easy-to-follow procedures for making heirloom-quality clocks for themselves, for family and friends, or just to sell for a profit.
