Please message me for out-of-stock voltages as these can often be obtained ex-factory within 5 working days for no additional cost! Note, any item with ONE(1) in stock comes ex-factory (please message me if you require more than one). The DMM (used to set Vo & Io) and AC leads are only available with a power supply/charger purchase! For higher wattage (up to 1700W) - click here.

This is a great little power supply (with variable voltage and current)* for lead-acid (flooded, GEL, AGM) or Li-ion (lithium iron, LiFePO4, or lithium maganese) battery charging or a multitude of other applications for use at home, business, school or industry. AND for use on the move... mobile homes, campervans, caravans, cars and truck battery replacement or charging! As standard a Terminal Block output connection is provided. Please message me for alternative output connectors, Anderson (AD1) or 3-pin (120W) / 4-pin (240W, 360W) XLR. Common voltages that can be set (using a DMM) are 10V, 12V, 13.8V, 15V, 20V, 24V, 25V, 27.6V, 30V, 40V, 42V, 48V, 50V, 55.2V, 60V. If you wish to replace your old (faulty?) charger or power adapter then cut the lead off and attach it to the TB terminals (with the correct polarity), adjust Vo and Io and "bob's your uncle" you're in business... if you would like us to set Vo and Io for you, let me know! These units can also be panel mounted using four MHS012D angle brackets. Please note that not all units have the mounting holes provided for these brackets and, only if you purchase the MHS-012Dx4 option, will we ensure that they are provided. These units are designed for built-in battery charging and are electrical safety approved to AS/NZS60335-1/2-29.

*Vo and Io Adj. can be used to adjust the brightness of lamps, the speed of motors, the force of solenoids (or electromagnets) and, of course, adjusting the voltage and current required for battery charging. Note, the contant current operation ensures that motor/lamp/capacitor startup can occur (it operates for 5 seconds below 50% Vn and continuously above) and therefore provides consistent operation of devices (and also protection) whereas a "normal" desktop power supply or adapter may "hiccup" when overloaded (e.g. an incandescent lamp may flash a few times before turning on).

Look for the Australian and New Zealand RCM symbol+ on any desktop Power Supply or Charger you purchase! Many "cheap" units are NOT electrical safety approved for use in Australia... watch out for these dangerous "fakes" as your life could depend on it! Always check the ERAC (Electrical Regulatory Authorities Council) website for "up-to-date" certified devices (see picture).

The NPB-120/240/360 "industrial" series 120W, 240W, 360W (watt) "desktop style" power supplies or chargers from Meanwell replace the PB-120, PB-230, PB-300, PB-360 series with higher efficiency (less heat dissipated), lower no load power consumption <0.15W, higher temperature operation (70°C max cw. 50°C), longer lifetime (3 year warranty) and smaller size up to 45%. Please note that these Meanwell NPB series provide a DC "regulated" output and the 12V units do not supply the wattage as suggested in the part number (e.g. the NPB-360-12 provides 15.2V at 20 Amps hence it supplies 15.2 x 20 = 304 Watts max. not 360 Watts). All weigh less than 1kg (1.2kg in box) with dimensions 182.7x96x49mm (box 275x150x65mm).

* please check that the mains lead is in good condition. Any sign of damage or wear and the lead should be replaced. For use in other countries simply use an "approved" adapter or swap the IEC C13 lead! NOTE: the IEC320-C13 is NOT a "kettle plug", however the IEC320-C15 (with notch) will fit these power supplies!

120W Series (2 stage setting, V+I factory set)
The NPB-120-12 provides 13.8V@6.8A, NPB-120-24 = 27.6V@4A, NPB-120-48 = 55.2V@2A.
Weighs: 1.3Kg, Size: 182.7x96x49mm.

240W Series (2 stage setting, V+I factory set)

Weighs: 1.3Kg, Size: 182.7x96x49mm.

All Meanwell products have a 2 to 7 year warranty. MEAN WELL Enterprises Co., is a Taiwan based company started in 1982 with strong ties worldwide (some well-known companies re-badge their products) and they provide excellent support and backup. Meanwell is a TQM (Total Quality Management) company and is ISO9001 certified. In 2017, the 2-year return rate was 1 in 6600. Meanwell power supplies are extremely reliable in our experience with only one unit DOA (Dead On Arrival) that was replaced and three returned during the warranty period in the 15+ years we have been selling... one power supply had been installed in a control box outdoors (for advertising) and had been attacked by a nest of ants! Meanwell now offers a range of fully sealed units (IP65 and IP67 rated)... please ask us for advice for outdoor and hazardous environments. For a company video - click here. PLEASE NOTE: no meanwell power adapter has ever been returned to us faulty! In fact MeanWell, means what it says "Power Supplies are like the hearts of machines and equipment providing stable electric current over time so that machines can operate smoothly. Reliability is essential as the cost of a power failure is often greater than the cost of the power supply!"

Some "on-the-web" comments... 1. "I have hundreds of 25 Watt 18V Meanwell adapters running in the field and another 100 or more of the 40/60Watt units. These replace cheap units supplied with equipment purchased from China which were very unreliable! On the other hand, we have NEVER had a failure of any Meanwell unit and warranty claims on our equipment have been reduced significantly as a result!", 2. "But in the end I've learnt a lesson here and that is spend the extra cash and buy some quality power supplies like the meanwell brand or else you could be in for a very frustrating time but I don't have the budget for that this year so I'll have to deal with what I have (sad face)". 3. Need a decent power supply... I can recommend mean well supplies. They are low end industrial supplies but are good quality, much better than no-name chinese supplies you can get from ebay etc.. I use mean well in lots of equipment and have had very few failures in thousands of hours of run time.

Some "email feedback" from buyers... 1. "The MW ps arrived today and is working beautifully. Built like an absolute tank as expected of MW. The cheapie I got from Ebay is a death trap in waiting in comparison. Thanks again for all of your assistance. Kind Regards", 2. "Thanks, that was extremely fast - I got it the next day! All plugged in and working without issues and I certainly have more confidence in the meanwell than the bundled adapter. I'm confident 5 Amps will be more than enough, hopefully I'm not back buying a 160W in the near future, fingers crossed".

We also provide a download (or CDROM on request) with the documentation in PDF format and other information on Meanwell products.

*a re-written user manual is provided (also in PDF format on CD-ROM) because we care that all products that we sell have clear and easily readable information and instructions with adequate warnings about any dangers or precautions that need to be taken! Beware of "fakes" and "look-a-likes" (with logos of "M&W", "MiWi", "WH", "WeHo", "WaW", "MN", "MIEG WAEI" for example) these are often cheap, low quality products that do not meet the safety requirements for use in Australia. Also beware of purchasing this product from overseas as an Australian Warranty will not be provided. +The RCM (Regulatory Compliance Mark) symbol is your guarantee that the item has been tested and certified for use in Australia at 240VAC. Remember many people have been electrocuted by "cheap" units, especially those made by Chinese companies (Meanwell is from Taiwan). Keep in mind the face masks that did not meet international standards and had fake markings on them! Many of the cheap power supplies sold in discount shops have been removed by the Australian government after one person was electrocuted... some of these are now sold online! On the issue of safety - there have been electrocutions (in Russia girls have dropped charging mobile phones in the bath, or in India a child simply put a USB plug from a charger in their mouth) which can be explained by the "cheap" components used in "cheap" Chinese power supplies, here's a quote: "The real concern is about safety. As far as I can see, the Chinese SMPS has a standard 1nF 1kV suppression condenser between primary and secondary side instead of a safety self-healing one. This is a death trap, because it tends to fail dead short at overvoltage condition. Short kV spikes are quite common in mains - tens to hundreds a day - so if you have connected anything referenced to ground (even capacitive coupling is enough) to the output of such SMPS, the cap breaks down, leaving your secondary circuit galvanically connected to Live wire. The SMPS does not stop working, everything seems fine, only the trap is armed and waiting for it's prey".
