Product Warranty

Bachmann products carry a Warranty for 12 months from the date of purchase against faulty materials or workmanship subject to the following conditions. During this period such defects that occur will be repaired or defective parts replaced free of charge.

1. This Warranty applies only if the item was purchased from an authorised retailer of Bachmann Europe plc (‘Bachmann’) within the United Kingdom and European Union / EEA. This Warranty does not confer any rights other than those expressly set out above and does not cover any claims for consequential loss or damage. The Warranty is offered as an additional benefit and does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

2. For claims under this Warranty, in the first instance the product must be returned to the retailer with evidence of the purchase date in the form of retailer receipt/invoice accompanied by a letter or Service Request form setting out the date and place of purchase, giving a brief explanation of the problem that has led to the claim. It is essential that the claim reach the retailer on or before the last day of this Warranty period. Late claims will not be considered.

2a. Models are sent at the owner’s expense and risk directly to Bachmann.

3. This Warranty is only available to the original retail purchaser of this product and is non-transferable.

4. The Warranty does not extend to cover damage resulting from misuse or careless handling, accidental damage, wear and tear, or use on a voltage supply other than that stamped on the product.

5. The Warranty may be considered void if repairs have been attempted other than by Bachmann staff.

6. The Warranty is on the original product in its entirety and does not extend to individual components removed from the product. In respect of train sets the warranty applies to motorized units and controllers only.

7. If Bachmann chooses to replace a product it will be with the nearest appropriate model of its choice.

8. Bachmann reserves the right to decline service to any model that has been fitted with a decoder after manufacture.

9. Bachmann will not be held responsible for damage to or loss of an after market decoder fitted to a model submitted for service under the Warranty.

10. The fitting of a Bachmann decoder with a current Warranty shall not be deemed to change the position regarding a product that is otherwise outside its own Warranty. It may be necessary to change decoder settings during service.

11. Bachmann’s liability under this Warranty will in no case exceed the price paid for the product as originally manufactured.

12. Bachmann Collectors Club Benefit. An additional one year warranty is available to all Bachmann Collectors Club members with a current valid membership. Claims during year two should be made directly to Bachmann and claims must be submitted with a valid Bachmann Collectors Club membership number and a return postal address which matches the one held on record against that membership. A claim can be made on a product purchased before the start date of a new membership, but the model must not be more than two years old at the date of the claim with evidence of proof of purchase. Claims will only be accepted where a current valid membership is in place, regardless of whether a valid membership was held at the time the model was purchased.

Introduction
The Class 37 Locomotive Group (C37LG) is a group of rail enthusiasts dedicated to preserving and operating working examples of English Electric Type 3 (British Rail Class 37) locomotives for the general public, and to promote their  interest and history, being part of our nation's industrial and railway heritage. The C37LG is a non-profit making organisation, and is registered as a Charity Reference Number : 1137787

The group has members all over the country, and internationally, and is managed by a committee elected by  members.

What do we do?

We own 37003

... and maintain our website, www.c37lg.co.uk as the premier internet resource for anything and everything to do with 37s

Our Loco

37003: Released 28 December 1960 from English Electric Vulcan Foundry, Works Number EE/VF2866/D582, numbered D6703 in British Railways all-over green, and part of the first batch of Type 3s (D6700-D6703)  delivered during 1960. D6703 was initially allocated to Stratford depot (30A) for duties including Class  1 trains to/from London Liverpool Street. Later, she was allocated to various other Eastern Region depots:  Tinsley, Thornaby, Healey Mills, Gateshead and Immingham. Our loco has carried two names: in April 1963 she was named "First East Anglian Regiment", but the name was never unveiled; much later, while based  at Tinsley in 1989, 37003 received an unofficial 'painted-on' nameplate "TIGER MOTH", which she carried until  overhauled at Doncaster in 1992 (and repainted in 'Dutch' civil engineer's livery).

37003 was withdrawn from traffic in 1994 and stored at Bescot and Crewe, until purchase by the Group in 1998.

She was then rebuilt pretty much from the ground up: everything from installing a new power unit (from 37073!)  via rebuilding the cabs down to refitting the original buffer-beam skirts - until in 2003 she was restarted for  the first time in preservation. By late 2004, in a fresh coat of Rail Blue and with reinstated headcode blinds,  she was ready to haul her first passenger train since her BR days

37003 is currently at UKRL in Leicester being restored to 1960's condition.  You can follow her progress in the Loco Progress section of our website. She will be available to attend diesel galas and other preservation events soon - please contact us by email if you'd like to know more!
