This is a 1952 Fender Champion Model Lap Steel Electric Guitar made in Fullerton, California. It has a yellow pearloid finish with a hardwood body and includes the original case. It was recently professionally hand-wired by J.R. Burns Stringed Instrument Repair Co. in Homewood, AL. It shows some general wear overall, with minor scratches on the body. It has three small nicks (pictured) in the finish next to the jack and corrosion on the headplate and bridge cover. See photos for condition. This lap steel has been rewired does not have the original pickup.

The metal fingerboard plate pinned to the body has black paint screening to outline fret positions. The headstock has metal facing with integral nut stamped with lighting bolt logo and "Fender Electric Instrument Co. Fullerton, California".

Overall length is approximately 29 3/4 in. (75.6 cm.), 7 1/2 in. (19 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/8 in. (3.5 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 22 1/2 in. (572 mm.). Width of nut is 2 1/4 in. (57 mm.).

The case is original and is functional. It shows signs of wear (see photos). All three latches work but it does not include a key. (The key is not needed to open the case.)
