The berlingo 1.9d is well known to be a trusty van, these engines are built to last and the parts are plentiful and cheap for when it does need something.
I've seen a lot of overpriced berlingos on here and feel mine, whilst not the most clean, is certainly in better mechanical condition than most, I'm also not asking the earth for it.
I've owned it two years, wasn't in great shape when I got it but I've spent a fair few quid righting it's problems.
First jobs I did were brakes all around, new wipers, led headlights cause they were dimmer than Tim from Harry Enfields tv show.
I've had brand new backbox, power steering pump, idle tensioner and belt, alternator, battery, and tyres.
It's got a fair few dings in the body, so don't expect a minter and the inside would certainly benefit from a mini valet but it's certainly not minging.
Someone crashed into me in a retail park when reversing out, their fault.. Caused damage to the lower rear sill which I had repaired on both sides at mot. They need a lick of paint if you're bothered, as they are currently primed.
Known faults are the tracking is out but it never bothered me, also, the abs sensor gets dirty and intermittently flicks off.
Again this doesn't bother me, it's simply a case of removing the sensor and wiping it clean.
This van is ready to go, starts every day without fail and even in the cold, so long as you warm the plugs it starts no problem.
Bluetooth head unit in there so you can have your tunes on or hands free conversations.
Power steering, elec windows, and that's about it!
Grab yourself a cheap runaround, no stupid electronics to go wrong on this thing, no turbos to fail, no dpf to get blocked or egr failures will ever happen!
