..... I know - this is not a gift and this is not one of the lowest prices, but: please read what you will get here (more photos at the end of description - please scroll down):

I offer here from my collection a fully restored and working german tube radio named "VE 301 dyn" (meaning: ´people´s  set with dynamic speaker´) in a great condition. It would fit perfect in a pre-war radio-collection, but also to a reenactment scenery as well !

I am a collector of these sets for more than 30 years now and own many of them. I have also great experiences in restoring those radios and sold them around the world (please have a look at my seller´s ratings !).

These sets were produced from 1938 to 1941 by all german radio companies exactly in the same way and in the same design. The only way to find out, which company produced any particular set was the metal tag on the chassis and the the producer´s name on the back panel.

Because all parts fit to other radios from the same type, mostly these back panels were exchanged, when such a radio went to repair. Nowadays you will often not find the correct back panels on the 301dyn and other "Volksempfaengers" (not matching to the producer´s tag inside), but not here: this radio was produced by the well known german radio company "AEG" and also the back panel shows the same name. It is glossy, not bend or broken and the lettering is still bright, clear and readable - it is in real good condition!

Try to imagine which sounds and voices came over this speaker - this is a real piece of history !!

This set has an extremely glossy and highly shiny bakelite cabinet with no serious damages, no cracks and no missing parts and only some very light superficial scratches on the left side (but in fact it is so fine that it does not disturb the extraordinary appearance of this radio - picture below). Nothing (!) is scratched out! It is impossible to take photos without reflections on the cabinet (it is really shiny like a mirror - please have a look at the pictures!). The cabinet is not painted or lacquered but only hand-polished - what you see is the original brightness of the genuine bakelite (I don´t sell other stuff by the way ... :-) )!!

The grill cloth is the original one with no damage at all as the tubes and all other parts.

The chassis is clean and definitely free of rust or any damages! Every part is cleaned and works electrically and mechanically as it should. It was stored very good over the last 70 years and is near to perfect ! The glass scale shows all german radio stations of the year 1938.

The speaker works correctly with no disturbing noises - the cone is free from damages. The original tubes are strong and test very good on my tube-tester (the AF7 is even new and just out of the box)!

The dial and all knobs turn smooth and accurate.

I also added come photos from the restoration process (condensers refilled - chassis cleaned to the last screw – compare to the actual state)!

I exchanged every condenser in this set with new high-voltage types. To keep up the original shape of this radio I pulled them out of their tubular housings and filled these with the new ones. Have a look at the special picture of this work which I included - you can see the emptied housings and the condensers after they are filled new. All other parts (including the resistors) are original! All resistors measure correct. The set even has it´s original mains plug. Only the mains cable was exchanged for security reasons to a modern cloth covered one. What you see here is an absolutely original appearance of this radio like it looked in 1938/39 !!

Please allow me to say that I am the only seller worldwide to offer this quality in Volksempfaengers. You will definitely find a cheaper example, but will not find a better one!

What you get is a fully working radio in complete original shape with working interior parts. The radio plays loud and clear on both frequencies (long-wave and medium-wave / almost identical to the american standard broadcast band (550-1600 khz). This radio is a single circuit receiver with one rectifier-tube (RGN1064), one detector (AF7) and one amplifier tube (RES164) (both penthodes). It works as a regenerative circuit like in the good old days but has already an electro-dynamic speaker with a very good sound (compared with the speaker of the "DKE1938" which was presented by the german authorities in the same year like this type). The VE301dyn was technically the best of the "Volksempfaengers" !

I made a last test run yesterday evening for several hours and received lots of foreign stations (which is remarkable because there are no AM-stations left in Germany – so this prooves the quality of the circuit and the radio itself).

This radio needs an antenna of approx 100ft (single stranded wire will do) and an earth connection (e.g. a water pipe or anything else) to work best.

The cabinet measures  27,3 x 31,5 x 18,5 cm ( 10.9 x 12.5 x 7.4" ). The set has a total weight of 5.2 kg.

It is prepared to work also with 220Volts as with 110Volts - please tell me in which area you live and I will put this set to your correct mains voltage - what you will get is a "plug-and-play"-set from 1938/39 !!! Together with this set you will get a colour copy of the original instruction manual and some additional material.

I will also add a original (!) period „radio permission“ to make this set absolutely complete!

NOTE: if you live in the USA you will get an adaptor for the standard US wall-outlet together with this set for free !!

Of course I know that my price is not cheap but please keep in mind what you get: a fully cleaned and restored (more than 80 years old) radio in working order. I do not offer the usual stuff like "just found in an attic with it´s original dust" or "I do not know anything about it but it´s terrific" or "I don´t know how to bring it to live again, untested but in great condition" !!!
