Vintage 1946 museum quality Travel Iron Mid-Century, Modernist, Modernism MINT

It has an outstanding streamline design with incredible warp-around deco speed lines that make it look as if is in motion with Bakelite black top. What makes this highly collectable is not only the condition of the iron but, it comes with it’s Original Box, in good condition most people threw away the box. rare indeed. Iron looks like it was never used, bottom still has its mirror finish. Made only in the UK.

Designed by Christopher Kerr & Harry Lucas. This same item is on display in several museums around the world, including the Wolfsonian Museum, see ad below. Looks as if it has never been used, see bottom of the iron. This is a wonderful, mint condition example of machine age industrial design. 

 It comes with a plug used in the USA. Tested, works, but because it is so old we cannot guarantee the wiring as safe...therfore we are selling this as a display item only.
