GOD ANUBIS: Anubis, one of the most iconic deities in ancient Egyptian mythology, was revered as the god of mummification, embalming, and the afterlife. He is typically depicted as a jackal-headed figure or as a full jackal, symbolizing his association with death and the underworld. Anubis played a crucial role in Egyptian funerary rites, guiding and protecting the souls of the deceased as they journeyed through the afterlife. He was also responsible for overseeing the weighing of the deceased's heart against the feather of Ma'at during the judgment in the Hall of Ma'at. If the heart was found to be pure and free from sin, the deceased would be granted eternal life in the afterlife. Anubis was closely linked with Osiris, the god of the dead, and was often depicted as Osiris's son or as his loyal attendant. Despite being a prominent deity associated with death and the afterlife, Anubis was also regarded as a benevolent protector, guarding graves and tombs against desecration and evil spirits. His cult was widespread throughout ancient Egypt, and he remained a beloved and revered figure in Egyptian religion for millennia, continuing to capture the imagination of people around the world to this day.
