First American edition, first printing hardcover copy of Harry Potter & The Sorcerer’s Stone by J. K. Rowling (Scholastic, 1998). First printing book with first state jacket. “J. K. Rowling” on spine, Guardian quote on back cover, white box around barcode, original price of $16.95 on front liner flap, embossed diamond pattern on purple boards, and full number line (1-10) on copyright page. A very well-preserved copy of this beloved children’s fantasy novel. Jacket is protected in new (removable) archival sleeve. Some mild rubbing/scuffing to jacket faces and slight shelf wear around the edges. Boards mildly bowed and with slight corner bumps, but are otherwise clean. Text block follows slight curve to boards. Spine is fairly straight. A few instances where binding is faintly visible in gutters, but hinges are secure and binding remains fairly strong on the whole. Small pen(?) spot on top edge of text block, but all pages are otherwise clean and unmarked. See photos.
