Original 1850s daguerreotype of a sickly woman in a high-backed chair. She is wearing a large painted cameo brooch with painted gold trim. Inside of the case is written, "My dear mother, "John G. Phelps". The daguerreotype is unsealed in half of a case, with a heavy tarnish ring, some corrosion on the mat and a spot on the plate, otherwise in VG antique condition. The case itself is poor with a missing top rail.
