Presented is a fine set of 12 porcelain dinner plates. These plates are
probably German or Austrian and date to about 1880-1900. The plates are a rich
blue and white, with colorful floral and foliate designs and ornate raised
gilding. Each plate has a colorful group of flowers in the center, with the
specific colors and flowers varying from plate to plate. This is a very handsome
set, great for display or use.

Each plate has a gilded crown mark on the underside, which covers over
whatever the original maker's mark is.

The set is in great overall condition. As the photo points out, one plate has
an old staple repair, where it had been broken in half right down the middle.
The repair is not very noticeable from the top of the plate. All the plates have
some wear or loss to the gilding, particularly to the circular groups of gilt beading.

Each plate is about 10 1/8 inches in diameter.

Weight: 14 lbs 4 oz (6459.5 grams)
