*About Nanbu Iromware ( Nanbu Tekki )*
Nanbu Tekki is an ironware made by a member of the Iwate Prefecture Nanbu Tekki Cooperative Association. There are 730 (estimated) workers at 74 offices. On February 17, 1975, it was designated as a traditional craft designated by the Minister of International Trade and Industry (currently a traditional craft designated by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry). It is said that there are currently 21 traditional craftsmen.
Nanbu Tekki, It has a tasteful texture, and the more you use it, the more texture it has. The outer surface of the iron kettle is baked with natural lacquer, and the inner surface is rust-proofed by traditional pot-baking. (It is a traditional technique to prevent rust by forming a film of ferric oxide on the surface by burning it over a charcoal fire of about 900 degrees. Boiled water contains abundant ferrous iron that is easily absorbed by the body, and is an iron kettle. Effective for replenishment.
* Care before and after use
・ After rinsing the inside of the iron kettle lightly, add water until the 8th minute and take about 15 minutes. Bring it to a boil. (At first, the water becomes cloudy with gold, so repeat it about 3 times and use it after the boiled water becomes colorless.)
* Do not use for a long time, and it is over. Please do the same work at the beginning of use even when it is.
・ After use, do not leave the hot water remaining inside the iron kettle as it is, but be sure to transfer it to a pot etc. to make it empty and dry it.
* When the water becomes cloudy due to rusting
・ First, rinse lightly, add water until the 8th minute, and put about 1 tablespoon of roasted tea on a cloth. Wrap it and simmer it in water for about 15 to 20 minutes, being careful not to boil it in the air. This is a method of stopping the gold using the scientific reaction of tannin and iron contained in the roasted tea. The effect will be further improved. After that, rinse lightly and boil the water once or twice before using.
