EXCELLENT WWII WESTERN L77 FIGHTING KNIFE W/ORIGINAL "RAIDER" SHEATH.   Although the Western L77 was not a U. S. military issue knife, per se, they were used by some of the Marine Corps Raiders prior to the issuance of the Raider Stiletto made by the Camillus Cutlery Company.  Western L77's were sold in military post exchanges (PX's) and were purchased by many servicemen as personal fighting knives.  They were made with both bright and blued blades and with both steel and brown Bakelite (plastic) guards and pommels.  Or, in some cases like this knife, with a combination of the two.  As shown by the photos, this knife is in excellent condition with a blued blade and a steel guard with a brown Bakelite pommel.  The blued blade is properly stamped, "WESTERN/BOULDER, COLO./PAT.NO,1,267,479" and is unsharpened.  It comes with its original "Raider" or "commando" style sheath - much like the sheaths used on the Raider Stilettos.  If you have any questions, please ask before buying or making an offer.  Thanks.
