Vauxhall Cavalier Convertible 1.8

1986 Vauxhall Cavalier convertible a rare car indeed. Requiring major work the Cavalier has not been used for many years. Currently not running although we have had the engine firing using brake cleaner and it appears fuel pump is not working. It should be a straight forward job to replace being under the car rather than inside the fuel tank. I see no reason why the engine shouldn’t run once sorted.

The Cavalier benefits from a good interior with Recaro seats finished in grey in fact the interior is generally very good which is helped by the roof being also in good order and not appearing to leak just needing a good scrub. The roof also has a good headlining which is like a grey tweed and like the rest of the interior it would benefit from a clean where dust and dirt has settled over the years. The front screen has a blue top tint which looks good and suits the car.

The car would require major work before returning to the road which will be a brave restoration. The passenger side sill and rear wheel arch on both sides are poor with the drivers side door shut also in very poor (see photo's) The drivers door solid with the bottom good with the passenger door bottom slightly rusted but could be sorted and boot lid edge also good. The new owner may use the car for spares which would be a shame for a rare car but this is for the winning bidder decide.

The Cavalier comes with the V5, lots of old invoices, stamped Vauxhall service history book and old Mot's. The car moves freely on a good set of period alloys that all hold air well. Please study photos carefully. As mentioned It will be a good source of parts with the interior alone being of great use for someone. As usual viewing is recommended.
