Antique / vintage hand painted enamel covered collectible box. The cover is literally covered in hand painted "The Art Institute of Chicago". The box measures 2 1/8" long, 1 7/8" wide and 1" tall with the lid on it. This one weighs 1.5 oz. Inside the box is "1893- 1993" It has a marking on the bottom base : "Halcyon Days Enamels" In an edition limited to 250 the number of this box is 104. In original box and it has a printed Halcyon Days Enamels book in it as well. The box is from Estate sale in excellent condition. Halcyon Days boxes are made in England and have enjoyed Royal patronage, having been commissioned to produce designs for The Queen Mother, The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh and The Prince of Wales. They were granted royal warrants as the first “Suppliers of Objets d’Art” between 1972 and 1987. Distribution of Halcyon Days Enamels is highly selective and is restricted to stores such as Tiffany's and Neiman-Marcus. Designed, enameled, and painted by hand in England. Halcyon Days honors the English heritage in each product.
