DESCRIPTION:

ORIGINAL LONDON UNDERGROUND MAP, TWO FOLD TYPE, WITH NO ADVERTISEMENTS - Ref:364/834M/500M

This map was designed by Paul E. Garbutt who was assistant secretary and New Works Officer. He produced the "new look" in his spare time because he, along with many others, disliked the existing version. Changes included a new shape for the Circle Line, which became known as the vacuum flask shape, and the words "Escalator Connection" between Monument and Bank were entered on the diagram for the first time.
