Another wonderful, unusual thing out of my mothers collection, and recently out of storage.
Lovely handmade, vintage Retro Wood Handbag Purse, totally encrusted with a stunning array of Sea Shells and scattered pieces of Coral (shown). I have shown it on two backgrounds, so you can see how great the shells show up on the piece.
It measures 9" total length x 5 1/2" total width, x 7" total height, plus another 3 1/4" to the top of the gold, plastic handle. It has a solid, metal snap closure, and when opened has a mirror on the inside of the lid (shown, which measures 5 14" long x 3 1/4" high, and is in excellent condition. The inside of the piece is totally covered with a brown type of fabric, and the entire bag, is surrounded with a beige, grosgrain ribbon, around the outside of the top, around the inside of the top, and around the top border of the bottom section. The bottom is white with gold metal feet on each corner.
Condition is excellent vintage, very collectible, and is in wonderful condition for its age It has one missing shell, on one of the corners just below the beige ribbon (shown in photos # 8 and 9 ), but hard to see or notice, and if bothersome, a shell could be added. This is a stunning, unusual thing to find, and would make a wonderful addition to any collection, or to showcase on its own.
