Carl Thieme Dresden Hand Painted Courting Couple Floral & Gold Reticulated Plate

Beautiful reticulated porcelain dinner sized cabinet plate. Decorated with a hand painted courting couple and another gentleman in the center with trees, a monument, and ruins in the background. With small hand painted purple, orange, pink, yellow and blue flowers along the inner rim. Gold gilt highlights to the reticulated edge. Impressed Meissen on the base. This mark was used by Carl / Ernst Teichert. The dates online for this mark are given as 1894 to 1914, but the Marks on German, Bohemian and Austrian Porcelain 1710 to the Present by Robert E. Rontgen give the dates as 1882 to 1925. Also marked with a blue T over an X. This is an overglaze decorator's mark used by Carl Thieme in Dresden, Germany between 1891 and 1901.

Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition.

Measures approximately 9 7/8 inches wide.

This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
