This is a beautiful Limoges covered dish made for Diamond Jim Brady, the famous New York financier, jewelry lover, and prolific eater. It is in excellent condition, and it was made in France by Societe Alluaud in the first few years of the 1900's I believe. It's decorated with cobalt bands, extensive gilding, and small pink flowers. The handles, and especially the top handle, have beautiful Art Nouveau curves. This is a very high-quality piece, with lovely painting and carefully gilded handles.

Underneath the lid and the dish is hand painted in gold, "Made specially for James B. Brady, N. Y. City USA." The dish is also marked on the underside with Limoges AD France and a gold rooster with the words Limoges France Societe Alluaud.

The dish is approximately 11" long not including the handles, 9" wide, and 4" high without the lid. The handles on the dish are placed a little off-center.

This piece is in excellent condition. It has no cracks, chips, crazing, or gold loss other than a little wear to the bottoms of its four feet. It must have rarely been used. Please see photos for details.

The price listed includes the dish, its lid, and free shipping.
