Here is a lovely early vintage Modern Library copy of Tristram Shandy by Laurence Sterne. There is no date on the copyright but the Random House information does not have a box around it and the price on the front flap and rear panel of the jacket

Is .95 cents. Plus there is a previous owner’s personal book plate with their name, city and state, and the date 10/03/45. All this points to a very early 1940’s edition. The binding is square, tight, and the text is immaculate throughout. The blue cloth boards are exceptionally clean and the red information box and gold lettering on the spine is very nice. The gold decor on the front board has begun to wear. The original red top stain is still very evident on the upper page block. The spine ends and all four corners are in excellent condition with only very slight wear to the corners also as shown in the photos provided. The dust jacket is complete with the original pricing as aforementioned. There is some light general wear at the spine ends, corners, and along the edges as documented. Also there is a tear at the front panel fold as can be easily seen. There is slight fading to the spine and along the edges of the front panel but only lightly as shown. All in all, a very nice vintage copy of an early Modern Library copy of a classic title. Please see all pics and ask any questions you may have and as always I never list ex library or book club editions so buy with confidence. And please check out my 100% positive seller feedback!!! Thanks for looking.
