Transformers was the first line of toys produced for the successful Transformers toy and entertainment franchise. These toy robots were manufactured by Hasbro (USA) and Takara Tomy, (Japan). They could change (transform, if you will) into an alternate form by moving parts into other places.
As the story line reads, the Transformers are a fictional species of sentient, mechanical robots that come from the planet Cybertron. The toy lines are primarily about the Autobots (the good guys) and Decepticons (the bad guys), two alien robot factions that can transform into other forms, such as cars, trucks, planes, guns, cassette player, animals, and even dinosaurs).
For millions of years, the only constant in the lives of the citizens of Cybertron has been change. Change through conflict and change through war! Millions of years of war have left much of the once beautiful machine world a jumbled chaos of shattered metal and melted slag. Throughout it all, only one robot stands like a bulwark against which the chaos breaks, and washes back. Optimus Prime is the greatest commander of the Autobots and the symbol of the best they have to offer - honor, compassion, justice. He is the ultimate warrior against the evil of Megatron, and the best hope Cybertron has of ever achieving peace.
He emerged like a savior from the darkest time of the war; an unknown, chosen to lead, and granted the power and wisdom of every leader that had come before. Though before the war he had been a simple archivist, the power of the Autobot Matrix of Leadership transfigured him. He became a warrior powerful enough to oppose even the unstoppable Megatron, motivated by the love of peace and honor he had learned in his study of the history of his world. If there is a victory to be won, it is Optimus Prime who will lead the Autobots to it.
In this auction, you are bidding on a Hasbro Transformers Universe: Optimus Prime 25th Anniversary Reissue Action Figure play set. This highly collectible set includes:
A. Optimus Prime - The figure can be posed in robot mode and can fire missiles at enemies. The robot's battle station can be converted into a trailer in truck mode, which can also launch a roller at targets.
B. An Autobot shield - The electronic shield emits speech and conversion sounds.
C. A Transformers comic book - This graphic novel is a re-issue of the original TRANSFORMERS comic book,
D. An animated DVD - This disc is a 25th anniversary reissue of the "More Than Meets The Eye" DVD. It features the first three episodes of the original animated series, three desktop wallpapers, and never before seen character art of Optimus Prime and his arch nemesis,Megatron.
NB - Please be aware that Hasbro included 3 AAA batteries that power the Shield. The sound currently is not working, probably due to dead batteries. They will definitely need to be replaced. This item is about 15 years old, and is being sold as NOS (New Old Stock). I can not guarantee that electronics are still working.
I was the original buyer of this extremely desirable Transformer when it was first offered for sale in 2009. Item has been in storage since then. The item is brand new and never removed from a factory sealed box. The box has typical shelf wear such as some tearing, scuffing, warping, price sticker, and is in satisfactory shape. Box displays beautifully. Please refer to pics and ask any questions before bidding as there are no returns on opened items :-(
