Pair of 19th Century Chelsea Style German Painted Colonial Georgian Figurines

pair of porcelain figurines of a Colonial / Georgian gentleman and lady
in the Chelsea style. He is hand painted and is wearing a yellow hat
with a maroon / dark pink flower. He has a grey wig pulled into a pony
tail with a flower in the same color. He is wearing an orange coat with
green lining and has a white waist coat with gold gilt highlights. There
is a bag over his shoulder. His pants are painted with blue and pink
flowers and gold gilt highlights. He has a basket with purple grapes and
is holding grapes in his right hand. With purple and yellow encrusted
flowers along the base and gold gilt highlights to the base. The girl
has a grey wig, a dark pink bodice, and white skirt with orange, blue,
purple and gold floral designs. She is holding a pale yellow hat in her
left hand and encrusted flowers in her right. With encrusted orange ad
white flowers along the base and in her lap. Marked on the bottom with
the gold pseudo Chelsea anchor mark. Probably made in Germany.
There
are numerous large and small chips to the floral encrustation and
grapes. The girl's left thumb has been broken. Some wear to the gilding.
The female figurine measures approximately 3 1/2 inches wide x 6 1/4 inches tall.
The male figurine measures approximately 3 7/8 inches wide x 6 1/4 inches tall.
These are antiques and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the pieces.
