VCR cycles is delighted to bring to the market this retro 1989!USA made Reflex ALX89 MTB Frameset.

A rare beast to see this side of the pond, the ALX89 was handbuilt using Easton E9 anodised maintubes bonded over cast steel lugs and having a steel rear triangle.

Theres a few articles on-line that explains the origins and production process of the frame if you’re not familiar with the brand and model.

The anodising is still good and not sun bleached. The painted areas are good too for an MTB frame of over 35 years old.

The joints are good and strong with no signs of failure.

The Shimano U brake is included as are the front Canti’s, smooth Shimano headrace, smooth bottom bracket and Shark Fin chainstay protector.

I’ve been gathering some parts together to build this up but lack of time and space has forced a reluctant sale.

I’ll be listing the parts in the next few days but briefly there’s a set a 26” 7 speed wheels with black Shimano LX hubs and Mavic M231 rims, a Profile quill stem a Shimano Triple B124 chainset and a 1990 Selle Italia Flite Titanium saddle if any if them are of interest?

The frame measures:

20.5” from centre of BB to top of seat tube.

21.5” from centre of seat tube to centre of headtube.

Headtube is 11cm

Rear spacing is 130mm

Front spacing is 100mm
