In the 1920s and 1930s the Chinese made many paperweights, including copies of the Baccarat pansy and the New England Poinsettia.  One type that is characteristic of the CHINESE culture is the "painted" weight.  These were usually medium–sized with scenic designs, butterflies, grasshoppers, flowers, etc.  Occasionally we find either a large sized one or a miniature.

This painted weight was probably made in the 1920s or 1930s.   It features a large Green plant with a Red Lotus flower and curving branches and leaves.  The paperweight is 2-13/16" in diameter and 2" high.  The weight is in near perfect condition with only a tiny bit of wear.  It is not signed; however, attribution is positive.
