The work is a narrative by one of America's greatest photographers of her experiences in Germany during the closing days of WWII and immediately post-war - covering a range of diverse topics, including perspectives and viewpoints of ordinary German people, the widespread destruction of the country, the liberation of the concentration camps, and a day spent with George Patton near the end of his life - accompanied by 116 pages of striking photography.
